Letter Week 3

Greetings Once Again My Representative…

And yes, rest assured I’m still a Gay citizen!

My civil rights are still not equal to yours, your other constituents or our fellow Americans.

I again must ask what you are doing to correct this.

What Plan-of-Action are you employing to help me as well as your other constituents who voted you into office and the rest of your fellow citizens who just happen to be Gay?

We still do not have the freedoms written by our forefathers in the Constitution.

We still do not enjoy all the laws of this great Nation.

We STILL are shackled and burdened by not being able to marry and visit our loved ones in hospitals, cannot offer residency to our partners from other countries, no protection from domestic violence, no veterans benefits, social security, welfare, Medicare, joint tax returns, bereavement or sick leave to care for our children, no child support, no joint housing for when we become elderly, no medical care for our survivors or children of veterans, no tax benefits of any kind, no automatic inheritance when our partners die, and no right to decide on the disposal of our loved ones’ remains when they die.

Can you even start to understand or perhaps try to get any vision at all of the daily pains and struggles we must endure all because a few want to insert their religious beliefs into our government? Religion and religious beliefs cannot (by Constitutional law) be considered when deciding this case. When Thomas Jefferson gave his speech on the 1st Amendment on January 1, 1802 before the Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association he said the Constitution provided a “wall of separation between church and state”. James Madison wrote “Strongly guarded is the separation between religion and government in the Constitution of the United States”. The U.S Constitution itself is a secular document never mentioning a god or a Christ or a religion. Indeed, the forefathers of the United States went to great lengths to OMIT the mention of God in our Constitution, ensuring that our government be By the PEOPLE, For the PEOPLE starting with the words we so cherish, “We, the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union”. If a man and woman want a religious ceremony…GREAT! But they can no longer deny the rest of us our Freedoms and Liberty’s that our men and women are fighting and dying for this very minute.

Marriage is a civil right granted by our government…to and for all.

More than 1,400 legal benefits being denied for lack of marriage alone!!!

I will hold you to this and you can and must no longer deny all people this Right, and you must FIGHT for those of us who can’t without delay!

Most Sincerely,

Letter Week 4

Greetings One More Time,

I am still a United States Citizen who just happens to be Gay and you are my Representative yet you continue to ignore my pleas for the Rights, Liberties and Equality granted me by the laws of this great nation.

I have written you time and time again to help me right this wrong. It’s a hateful situation you seem determined that I endure.

I ask one more time that you actively and aggressively seek an end to this Civil Rights Nightmare and finally grant me, your fellow citizen, the equality I have been guaranteed by my country’s forefathers.

Will you step-up to the plate and take on this, albeit, unpopular responsibility to ensure my Rights and Standings in this, my country, and ensure all of my Rights?

Keep in mind that in the Entire History of this Great Nation NO CIVIL RIGHTS FIGHT has EVER been denied. Which side of History will YOU be on when your Grandchildren look at you and ask “Why were people hated just because they Loved?”?

The time is long overdue and the day is quickly fading for some of us.

Conservative estimates put today’s active Gay Voters from 10,000,000 to 25,000,000 in America today. With family and friends that number could easily reach a Staggeringly ACTIVE Voter Block of anywhere from 35 million to as many as 50 MILLION PRO GAY VOTERS!!! That, my friend, makes for quite an active One Strong Voice voting block! Would you want this voting block with you or against you? We have Quickly organized and have already surpassed our short-termed goals. Your state is coming up soon.

I must remind you that your actions will be remembered and passed on from one person to another, one household to another until ALL know of your help or of your inaction. I fully trust that you will come to see the simplicity of this situation and, though requiring effort and strength, the nobleness of fulfilling our nations’ founders’ belief that truly, in America, you will find that all are equal and endowed with Life, Liberty and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS…after all, that’s all we want – to be happy (and, of course, Loved…..).

One day soon I hope to be able to meet you and say:

Thank you for your time and effort, your strength and courage and your commitment of spirit to honor your Oath to uphold our Nation’s laws. Let me know how I can be of help to you.

Sincerely,

Letter When You Get Support !!!

HI!

I’d like to take the time to THANK YOU personally for your support in our fight for Equal Rights!

We have been waiting many, many years to become Equal Citizens in our own Home Country, America!

I know we have a way to go, but with Officials like you fighting by our side, our goal of Equality will be accomplished soon.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help YOU help US.

Gratefully,
